Health care
Health services in Bahrain are free for all citizens, and within the reach of all. Basic and important services are free for foreigners as well.
Services are at a high standard, but for certain specialized treatments, Bahrainis are forced to go to foreign hospitals, often in Europe and North America.

Health conditions and diseases
In addition to normal health problems, respiratory problems caused by sand and dust in the air are common. Overweight is a problem and life expectancy is almost 4 years less than Jordan.
Good access to clean water and sanitation is today available to 100% of the population.
