Basic education access

Basic education access is usually called "Education Index", and is a part of the United Nations' Human Development Index (HDI). The Education Index measures adult literacy rate, counting 2/3; and school enrollment ration (from primary through to secondary), counting 1/3.
It measures not what is most interesting, the quality of the curriculum, the education methods and the qualifications of the teachers. For many developing countries, these factors are of far greater importance than the universal enrollment rate. Even worse, the Education Index reflects absolutely nothing in relation to higher education in a country.
LookLex includes the Education index not because of its general usability, but as an indicator for accessibility to basic education. Using the Education Index to indicate the general standard of a country's education system would be completely deceitful. That is the reason why we have renamed it to "Basic education access".
All in all, 182 countries are listed.
