Zainab bint Jash
Arabic:
zaynabu binti jahshi l-'asdiyya

(About 591-about 642) Married to the Muhammad, the founder of Islam, from 626 CE (4 H) until his death in 632 CE (10 H).
Muhammad's marriage to Zainab was the result of Muhammad falling in love, which is different from most of the other marriages, where brothers or fathers had given his wives to him. Moreover she was married to Zaid at that time. Zaid was one of the first that had converted to Islam, and he divorced Zainab to let Muhammad marry her.
Zainba received a dowry of 400 dirhams. Zainab had good relations to A'isha, and was one of Muhammad's favourite wivexs. Zainab is celebrated in the texts for her charity.
