Ifrane d'Anti-Atlas is not just a beautiful place with rich oases, it is also a place that has some histories to tell. It has been inhabited for a couple of thousand years, and the legend has it that the Jews came here after fleeing from king Nebuchadnezzar. Ifrane d'Anti-Atlas was also among the places which fought against conversion to Islam longest. In the late 1990's the village's pride was mainly connected to football, as the Moroccan international star Moustapha Hadji learnt how to kick the ball between the palms of Ifrane d'Anti-Atlas. Local pride is now centered around his younger brother, Yussuf, central in Morocco's success in the 2004 African Cup of Nations.
