The Roman remains of Le Kef is limited by being smack dab in the middle. Very little of the ancient city is above ground, and the two tiny areas have been overlooked by most tour groups. But while strolling around this charming town, a step down into the Roman baths is actually quite rewarding. The thing is that it is surprisingly large, and impressively high arches hang over you as you stand by the hexagonal pool in the middle. Still, the area is a bit too untidy to tell a good story about the past. Also note the tomb stones placed next to the white building to the left of the entrance, and take a quick look into the remains on the other side of the street. There is no entrance fees to the site. Opening hours depends on the mood of the caretaker, but is open most days.
