The inner sections of Fethiye has several very nice shopping streets. These appear to meet the demands of locals as much as tourists. Fethiye is therefore a highly recommended place to go shopping, average quality is higher than in the tourist centres and prices can go far lower. The lower photo shows a disgusting example of shopping; older European woman (in this case around 70 years old) waving a immigration permit into the face of a young, poor Turkish man (in this case around 25 years old). Who, of course, on his side will just be counting the days until he can divorce her and marry his Turkish girlfriend. Look at the sign of the carpet shop! Ironically fitting the deal being brokered between the two "love birds".
