FETHIYE
Amyntas Tomb

Fethiye, Turkey

Fethiye is home of the finest Lycian rock tomb, a grand structure that brings Petra of Jordan to mind. On its walls is written in Greek letters "Amyntou tou Ermagiou", telling us that Amyntas was the son of Hermagios.
Its facade is designed to resemble that of a temple, including two Ionic columns. The facade was originally painted, the last trace of that disappeared in the 19th century.
Admission is 2 lira, open 8.30-sunset.BR>
